Will Cocoa Butter Lotion Clog Pores?

EHAS has three networks in Peru: the Napo river (where we stayed in this PPORTUNITY), the Yurimaguas and Cusco. Our goal is to implement telemedicine solutions and bioengineering using such networks.
Implementing a support system for malaria diagnosis using microscopy
digital systems with image transmission over the Internet
(telemicroscopia) was one of the priorities set for the following reasons:
• Impact on the rate of false positives or negatives
• Increased speed response in borderline cases and decreased
(removal?) of the discrepancy
• Ability Interconsultation and case discussions.

Based on these items, we organized our group's visit to the city of Iquitos, and health posts in Santa Clotilde, San Rafael, Angoteros and Rumi Tumi. Due to logistical problems of transport, the latter two could not be visited.

Worked with the various people involved in the process, from technical to the reference laboratory director. The imaging system using a special microscope digital camera we had brought, it worked perfectly, being able to diagnose directly into the notebook, not just different plasmodiums of malaria, but also Hansen, Koch, and fecal parasites. The transmission of the images was performed without problem, being able to receive anywhere in the world so encouraging a consultation.

two points were also accessories. Lighting using LEDs, since in many places there is electricity and should be used micrsocopios with mirrors and sunlight, and a storage plan and preventive maintenance of microscopes, to prevent moisture from damaging when not in use .

now up to build the project team to implement prototyped solutions and that will be reason for another trip of longer duration. Are over a thousand photos and videos, a lot of work every day in health centers. Remain available to anyone who wants to tell you more about the trip and the projects and EHAS FUNDATEL. We expect the next blog as we travel directly hosted on the dominion of FUNDATEL.

Until next time!

Kate's Playground First

A house!

Working! this is the reference laboratory for malaria, here are sent every three months from all Loreto 100% of positive cases of malaria and 10% of the negatives for quality control. This also makes Hansen, TB and other analysis.

native fauna! this is an anaconda, weighed about 10 kilos, yet is small, but it will grow. Ceviche is eaten and also has many uses leather, ribbed make crafts, but beyond that is a very verena animal by the Indians.

Another picture of typical home, these over the River Nanay.

clearer The line you see on the horizon is the water of the Amazon. This picture is taken from the Nanay river whose water does not mix with the Amazon, and it shows as seen in the photo.

And here, finally back! This video is in the LAN's Airbus we came back, very good service, with individual LCDs, etc.

Oppsett Med Kicker Warhorse

Bioengineering, telemedicine, etc. in the jungle!

This post is exclusively about the health center in Santa Clotilde, then upload one of San Rafael.
This image is the shelves with the medical records of patients, the oldest is from 1936! There is also a table so that the doctors write.
This is the engine room, where are the generators. On the left is a General Electric, but waiting for parts from USA.

This is the part of the water extraction wells in the new part being built with international funds, the rainwater will be stored for cleaning the bathrooms.

This is the woodwork, where they are made from beds to lamps. To the left of the photo shows a clay oven in which bread is made.

As you may remember a few years ago there was a cholera epidemic, the bathrooms are separate for these cases. It is also a macaw of the many that are out there.

servocuna Here only used this part is to neonatology. The obstetrician Health Center 10 months ago that this could not travel, because it is the one.

This optometry clinic is done, we see a tonometer WA, an ophthalmoscope and a Carl Zeiss slit lamp. On the wall had optotypes Schnell.

The vaccines are stored in refrigerators to kerosene or gas.

Sterilization is only done by dry heat.

The medium Mobility is with these boats, the engine of long leg that is called small-small, is so to walk in shallow water.

Children, the main beneficiaries of these health posts.

Hello everyone! Suddenly a little more than photos!

What Does A Temp Of 96.5 Mean?

back in Iquitos!

Today at 8 AM we left Santa Clotilde to Iquitos again, to continue the work here and have meetings with national health authorities and EHAS in the area. We went in fast Divine, the same as we had arrived. Before leaving, take this picture of a boy in his boat loaded with palm leaves for roofs.

Mazan The way takes about 4 hours down the Napo river, sometimes passing near the coast, bypassing banks and clubs.

Mazan After arriving in motorcar to dock and quickly to 12 people back to Iquitos. This photo is in the port of Iquitos Producers.
In this video we motorcar de Mazan in Varadero.

In another video, we are in the Port of Producers

Morning After recovering a bit, we will put more pictures and videos! Greetings to all and thanks for the comments!

Do Fuze Slenderize Work

Endless journey to San Rafael

San Rafael is a town on the banks of Curaray, the trip was not entirely happy, we started badly when we were hard to get moving, then once we leave, soon, the engine started with problems, and this was repeated several times, and came to San Rafael thanks to Fer he could repair on numerous occasions, but delayed more than 6 hours on a trip that was three hours at most.

The problem was that by delaying both had little time to get to work with Elisha and Victor, but we could try the system again and also the low-energy lighting we created, the results were more than satisfactory!
After work any better than a good lunch. This lady gave us lunch at home and in the photo she is seen preparing a tortoise.

The return trip had to be quiet but smoothly, because if we grabbed the night in the middle of Napo, there are no stars serve you and indeed it happened. Leaving San Rafael locks the gearbox and engine Fer again with multipurpose clip returned to repair the motor and empresndimos return.

The problem was that the engine failed again and also we varamos a bit of Santa Clotilde, but far as to call for help, quickly snapped out of the stranding, the engine returned to give him little work to Fer, Rodo above and I could not help because there is no room in the boat, but finally we got home and this last photo is well before the sunset on the Napo, the Mad River in Quechua, their sudden rising .

Good people, come back later to upload the other photos and video. Kisses and leave comments! around here all three are well!

Adenopathy What Does It Meanj

Monday again!

Today the heat was terrible, with 100% humidity, we could not sleep very well, since there is no fan because there is no electricity and covered with mosquito nets is not very fresh. We went to breakfast the three, again fried chicken, fried bananas, fried yucca and rice with fried onions and fried eggs, very very rich!
In this barge is transported around and crosses the Napo between Cabo Pantoja on the border with Ecuador and Mazan about 200 km downstream from here. As you see here is all, animals, things and people. Takes about 12 days to climb and about 7 to download.

With Rodo we are again working in malaria diagnosis but today Franck added analysis stools and red cell morphology.
Rodo Fer and arranged an electrocardiograph that was broken into months and then delighted Dr. Jack Mc Carthy I tried on a patient.
Fer also arranged a spectrophotometer which had been sent to Lima to repair and returned without a settlement, repair, calibrate and ready to go!

morning drive to be tested in San Rafael, a town on the banks of the river Curaray, Cesar took us in his boat, we estimate about two hours there and back. Then start reporting and on Thursday back to Iquitos. More news later.
